Paper Bag Mini...finished!!!!

Hey ya'll...here's my latest mini!  I've been working on both this one and the TP mini I already shared with you.  I had a couple people ask me how I changed the shape of the TP Mini.  I will try my best to do a video of that.

Here's the slideshow of my new mini and a photo of the front cover...I thought this way might be better to keep from such a heavy photo post.  If you have any questions...please feel free to ask!  Your comments and feedback are so much appreciated!!

Have a wonderful day.

Secret Sis Mini Album

I have shared a few things that I've made to go in this mini album and today I'm sharing the completed mini!  Yay!

Only one more to go.

So...this is a TP Mini Album.  I didn't want the same old shape, so I cut out a top note type shape on each roll.  Here's the front

I used my handmade flowers that I used vintage lace and sprayed then with my homemade mist.  I used more vintage lace to bind the mini and I added one of my charms/dangles.  I have 2 stick pins...one is Jenny Bowlin and the other one I made.  I added some recollections bling, feathers and distressed some tan cardstock and added it on the front.  I covered all the rolls with green paint, but wanted to make them a little more sturdy.  So, I added some modge podge as well.

The next 2 pages...

This page is simple.  I added another handmade flower from more vintage lace that I sprayed...a clock face by The Paper Studio, 2 of my stick pins then I put the tan paper on pop dots to create another pocket.  There's a tag behind that comes out for journaling or photos.  This is the same tag as the previous "page"

his birdcage die cut was in a K&Companay pack that I got and I just loved it.  I put it on a piece of brown card stock and when you untie it...it opens out for more journaling or smaller photos.  K&Company Lollipop flower and feathers.  I also added stickles to the bird.

The next 2 pages...

The page on the left opens up to allow for more journaling and photos and another K&Company Lollipop flower and feathers.  The hinge is a stick from a Sandy Lion Page kit.

The page on the right has a butterfly from K&Company and I added stickles to parts of it.  It is open to allow photos behind.  I also added recollections pearls.

The next 2 pages...

Page on the left is simple again has a pull out tag from the top of the page, 2 more of my stick pins, handmade flower and butterfly from K&Company that I added stickles to.

The page on the right has another K&Company butterfly that I added glossy accents to and flowers from the wedding section.  I also added recollections pearl swirls.  It also has a small booklet that comes out and opens up.  See photo below

The next 2 pages...

Another handmade flower, a K&Company bird that I added stickles to.  There's a zipper pull at the top that I used to hold the small booklet in place.  I attached some mini keys to it that I added a little bit of alcohol ink to.

The booklet opens up space for journaling or photos on both sides

right side page

This page has more flowers from the wedding section, 2 more paper studio clock faces, feathers, K&Company bird stickled and the tag pulls from the top.  I added an eyelet for the closure on the edge where you would normally fit the tag for the TP Roll album.
Here's the back

added this big bow that I've had forever and a little coin envelope with vintage button.  The envelope opens up and has my info inside of it on a small piece of kraft card stock.  I may add a couple more flowers back here...not sure.

For the tags...I actually only used 4 instead of 5.  As I said before, on the bag "page" I added an eyelet for easy attachment of the Tim Holtz swivel clasp I sued for the closure.

First tag...mixed feelings

I love this stamp, but it just didn't come out the way I wanted it to.  I used distress embossing powder for the first time and I'm not sure if I just didn't use it right or if I'm really not a fan?  Anyway...I used this image then stamped around the edge with a prima stamp.  I think I would have liked it better if I had just used regular pigment ink.

All the other tags are prima stamps that I used brown pigment ink and white ribbons.

so that's my little mini...check out the slide show!!  Your comments and feedback are much appreciated!

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Gettin Crafty Tonight!!

Hey Ya'll...well it's Friday and I've been running around in a freenzy for the past few weeks.  So, tonight, I'm going to hang out with my girls and we are gonna get to scrappin!!  I have a few projects I'm working on...

Imagine this...I signed up for June's charm/Dangle Swap on the Scrapbeach.  I am so addicted to these things.

I also am working on an altered Matchbox for the first time.  I still have a little time on it but I basically have it in my head how I want it to look.  I still have one item/embellishment I need to purchase though.  I haven't found the right one yet.

Then my last 2 projects are mini album swaps.  If you saw the flower I posted last...that one is for the TP mini I'm working on.  It will for sure get finished tonight.  It's for the secret sister swap at Scrapbook.com.  Then I have one more to finish for the same swap.  I covered an angel spot there ...so I have 2 mini's to complete.  I actually have a lot done on the other one too.  I started working on it right before the tornados hit.  I was working on the tags the day the storm happened.  So...it's going to be a very special mini for my swap partner!

So...I better get back to work for about 2 more hours then I am headed to meet my girls!  It's been a long time since I've got to go scrap with them.  I hope you all have a weekend filled with scrappy happiness and I can't wait to share my finished projects with you!!

Handmade flowers from Vintage lace

I've seen so many people make handmade flowers from lace, so I decided to try it myself for a mini I'm working on for a swap at Scrapbook.com.

Here's how they turned out...

This is the flower on the front of the mini I'm working on.  It's a TP mini.  I don't want to share anymore of it until my secret sis receives it.  I'll post better pics after she does.

This is just the flower...before I put it on the cover.  I added another stick pin to it before I put on the mini cover.  The lace was white and found in my Granny's Sewing room.  I used homemade glimmer mist with Slate Green acrylic paint and Folk Art Metallic Gold paint.  It doesn't have much shimmer because i didn't add much gold, but the leaves behind it add more shine.  I added 3 feathers and a handmade stickpin.  To top it off I used a Recollections button in the center.  I'm addicted to making these now.  They were so much fun.

Thanks for looking and hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Completed Charm

Finally....I completed the charm and tag together and got them mailed out days ago...but was unable to post to blogger.

Here's the back of the tag...the yellow piece opens up with my contact info inside.

Here's the charm...it was rainy outside so I had a hard time getting a good photo!  UGH!

Here's the tag and charm together from the front.  I added some ribbons on the top.

I loved the little spools that I found at Oriental Trading and the scissors as well.  I had to buy earring kits, but I can use those for something else.  I found several small spools at Hobby Lobby and Michaels, but never found any this small.  The buttons are from a pack I found in my Granny's sewing room.  They are bright yellow.  I'm sure they are OLD since my Granny died many years ago.  I used some safety pins and some bead mixtures called Fruit Punch that I picked up at JoAnn's.  Oh...and there's another light yellow or white button at the top that I also found in my Granny's sewing room.  The yellow teardrop shape is from a pack of Making Memories chandelier beads.

Here's a couple more photos

Thanks for taking a look at my latest project.  Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Back To Craftin!

Hey Ya'll!  Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.  I've been working on my charms for the May Charm/Dangle Swap over at the Scrap Beach.  Sign ups for this swap are already closed because they are due pretty soon!  I'm so behind because of all the stuff that's been going on here, but I finally got to sit down and work on my charms and tags.

Today, I'm gonna share with you the tags.

I used plain small white tags that I purchased from Hobby Lobby by the Paper Studio.  Then, I used Prima stamps to create a border.  I also used the Prima butterfly stamps that came with this small set as well.  Then I stamped a dress form using a Glitz Design Stamp.  I used Martha Stewart ink for the 2 shades of blue and Hampton Art for the pink.  Then I went over the dress form with crystal stickles and added a little around the edges of the tag and there you have the completed tag!!!

closer photo of the dress form

I will share the charm and hopefully the whole thing together in the next couple days.  I have to get mailed out as soon as possible.  Probably tomorrow.  I am so behind on mailing packages!

Thanks for stopping by.

Crafty Post...sort of!!

Okay ya'll...I was sitting here working today and here comes the UPS truck.  Guess what it was...my cuttlebug!!  WOOHOO!!  I'm so excited and just had to share it with someone.  You know...ya'll are the only ones who would understand my excitement.  My parents were sitting at the kitchen table and I came running up the hall and I was like...my cuttlebug is here!!  They looked at me like I was crazy.  So thank ya'll for allowing me to share my excitement with my crafty friends!!

Have a great night.

Non Crafty Post

Hey Guys...just sharing a link today.  My cousin is a singer and songwriter.  I just stumbled across some videos of her on YouTube.  So, when I found them I decided I'd share them with you. She has talent!  I can really rock out to some of her music when driving down the road.

This is an original song...

This is a cover of Paramore - Decode...

This is a cover of Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love...

She has recorded a CD of her own music and it is available.  You can contact her on Facebook and you can listen to her original songs at Pure Volume.

She didn't ask me to put this up or anything.  I just thought it was awesome I found videos of her on YouTube!!

I have a crafty post coming in the next couple days!

Which Die Cut Machine do you own?

Hey ya'll!  Well, back to work today after a long weekend of helping friends, family and neighbors clean up around here from the tornado damage.  I didn't even get to take the day for national scrapbook day, but it's ok.  They needed my help more.  But, I did get in some online shopping.  I actually ordered the cuttle bug and it came with 9 embossing folders.

So...that's the question now...which machine do you own?  Do you own more than one?  I have went back and fourth for over a year...did I want the cuttle bug, the big shot, and now the grand calibur is out and the vagabond...so I finally found the best deal on the cuttle bug so I did it...I placed my order!!  I have the original sizzix and the cricut, but the Tim Holtz dies will not fit in the original sizzix.  So, I have been able to use my small embossing folders and all the smaller dies, but haven't purchased any of the larger ones because they won't fit.  There are so many cute dies out for Tim Holtz.  Wouldn't it be great if he did a cricut cart??  That would be the best!!

So...tell me...which do you like best?

Thank You!

Hello Everyone...I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful comments and thoughts and prayers that have been offered.  I think it's great to have the crafty community support and I greatly appreciate it.  Things are starting to calm down a little.  Of course the lives that were lost can't be replaced, but the material things can.  There were so many funerals and clean up going on...it got a little hectic.  While the clean up will take a long time...the emotional scars will be longer to heal.  Thank you so much for the support.  I really appreciate you all!!

Hopefully soon I can get back to crafting, but I feel the need to help my neighbors, friends and family right now.

Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts being sent our way.

Tornados in Alabama

Hello Everyone...I'm not sure if most of you know, but I am a native and resident of Alabama.  We have recently had Tornadoes that have left a path of destruction from the bottom to top of our state.  My heart is broken for my state and I truly feel for the people that deal with this kind of weather all the time.  This is something new for us here in Alabama in the mountains where I live.  My community is small and I have to say that people around us have really stepped up and helped their neighbors.  I am so touched by the generosity of people.  My home was not damaged, but I have family who lost everything and family members and friends that were killed.  Please keep my family, the workers, volunteers and the whole state of Alabama in your thoughts.  It seems that all the small places are forgotten when something like this happens and just the larger cities get the coverage from the television cameras that in turn brings the assistance to those cities.  So, if you are someone out there that has offered help to the little small towns where everybody knows everybody....thank you from the bottom of my heart.  AND, thank you to the community that has impressed me so much and the churches and the young to old that have helped in whatever way they were able.  My thoughts go out to my neighbors in Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi and the small towns there that may have been forgotten as well.  Remember...help your neighbors.  Treat them with kindness.  Tomorrow, the same storm may be in your back door.
