The Old Barn

Here's my latest layout...

The photo is a little dark and may be hard for you to see.  Sorry about that.  It's a photo I did in Sepia tone of the old barn on my Grandparents land.  They have both passed and I have so many memories of this old barn from my childhood.

I FINALLY got off my stash of Dusty Attic Chippies and used 2 of them on this layout.  I painted them with Folk Art Green Metallic paint, added some green stickles then added clear embossing powder and used my heat gun on the top.  The 2 birds I painted with a darker brown and put a dot of stickles for their eyes.

I used a prima flower and Martha Stewart punch.  The butterflies and double layers and 3D.  I like this element.  The green flourishes are by Forever in Time.  I but them up and made my own shapes.

The bottom piece with the flourishes was on a patterned sheet by My Mind's Eye and I cut it up to take just the flourish to the page.  I also added some stickles on this piece and put it on dimensionals to have it cover the end of the Dusty Attic piece.

The clock is from a patterned paper piece that I got from a large stack I bought several years ago.  I think I purchased it at Michaels.  I also cut out the letters from the same stack that were scattered on a 12X12 piece of paper.

The top note shape is actually from the Teresa Collins Halloween die cuts and I just covered up the Halloween message.  It worked well for what I wanted to do on this page.

Here's a couple close ups...

Sorry the photos are not the greatest.  Thanks for taking a look!

I have started on 2 other projects.  Hope to complete them soon.

Give Away...Old and New Favorites

Hey Y'all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine unfortunately was not so great.  But, I'm hoping to start the week off right with a give away.  Yay!

So...I'm giving away some of my Old Favorites and some of my New Favorites.

In this photo you will see some of the old favorites include Recollections bling in pink, blue, pearl and clear, KI Memories Border Stickers that are all glittery, Recollections swirls that are glittery as well(these are very flat and great embellishments they are in the top middle of the photo...sorry, hard to see but they are a brown color), pink Prima flowers of course with matching centers, and some making memories flowers that are a white/ivory color with clear brad centers...perfect for misting.  The new favorites in this photo would be the small paper flowers that I got for a steal at Paper Wishes on their Mom's Warehouse sale.  I love these little flowers.  They are just too cute!  I also found some Petaloo flowers that are just so pretty and come in 3 different sizes with the centers as well.  I found these at Scrapbuck.

In the next photo you will see a lot of NEW stamps.  There are some Graphic 45 cling stamps that I am completely in love with (one larger set and a few smaller sets) and some little wood block stamps that I got in the bargain bins at various stores.  The Hello Dear stamp is just great for cards and the one I bought myself has already been put to great use.  The old favorites are the inks.  I prefer the smaller ink containers because they are just easier for me to work with.  There are some Inkadinkadoo Pigment inks and dye inks(larger red dye ink pad).  Then I also included some Color Box minis that are pigment too.  There are a couple Studio G by Hampton Art chalk inks and I just love these.  I got these in the $1 section at JoAnn.  This is where I get a lot of my pigment inks.   I like these, the memento's or the Martha Stewart cat eye shapes because they are so easy to work with.  There are also a couple Studio G pigment inks.  Of course I also love my Tim Holtz distress inks but I didn't have any of those I could part with.  There's probably a couple of the stamps you can't see very well in the photo.  One says Spring and one is a butterfly with the word Spring inside the butterfly.  I couldn't resist either of these and had to have them!  There's also some Hampton Art black embossing powder.  I am very bad to buy a ton of one thing.  I do like to share so it usually finds a home with one of my scrapping pals.  However, they have all been slacking on  me and not scrappin lately!!!  Plus most of them don't do stamping or embossing.  So, I thought I'd throw it in this give away.  I think I bought 4 bottles of the black.  Then I realized I already had 4 bottles of the larger size.  Oh MY!!   That's a lot of embossing.  Sorry...starting to ramble!

I will also throw in a few extra treats!  Those will be a surprise.

So, for this give away, just let me know you'd like to be entered by leaving a comment on the give away post.  You don't have to be a follower or anything...just leave me a comment that you want to be entered.  I will draw the winner April 15, 2011...so this is a short give away!!  If I do not get a response from the winner by April 21, 2011 I will draw again!  Internationals are welcome!!

Thanks for letting me ramble!!  Have a great day.

Blog Candy update and a new layout!

Hey Ya'll!  Well, today was supposed to be the end of the giveaway, but I posted a video on youtube and said it's tomorrow...so, I'm gonna wait to draw the winner until tomorrow 04/02/2011.  Sorry for my confusion!  I did the video last night and said it ends tomorrow.  I didn't upload the video until today so I wanted to wait another day.

I'm feeling very generous and I have a big pile of stuff for the winner.  I'll be having another give away in the next couple of weeks as well!

Here's my new layout.  I actually had time to finish today!  My system was not cooperating at work, so I had time to complete the page this morning.  I'm gonna submit this for the scrap your pet challenge at Scrapbook.com

This is another page of JACK!!  I had this cardboard box and I put pillows and a blanket in it and Jack would lay in the box beside me while I was crafting for the first few weeks he was with me.  He was so TINY!  He's so big now and I miss the little man.  :-)  He tends to follow the other dogs around now instead of sticking to me...which is a good thing for a healthy doggie.  I'm not really sure what paper this is.  I have so many that I've ordered from ScrapAttack Scrapbooking to participate in their challenges.  I ordered the exact papers for the croppy cat challenges, but I've found that when I started ordering...I forgot to save the original artist name.  In order to enter the challenge you have to post the original work as well from the gallery on their site.  So, this is another one for the Croppy Cat Challenge that I won't be able to submit.  BUT, I have all the products to do the layouts and the great inspiration from the original layouts.  I made changes on this one just like I have on my others.  I added the corner flourish which is a felt piece.  It was bright orange and I inked it to tone it down.  I also did the same for the flourish in the bottom corner.  I ordered this big pack of felt items from ABC Distributing a long time ago and this is the first time I've used it.  There's some great pieces in the box of felt I got.  I used american crafts thickers for the name and inked around those too.  I drew the top note shape and cut out by hand and I fussy cut all the flowers and swirls out from a 12X12 pattern piece.  I used my EK Success edge punch that looks like notebook paper for the border under the photo.  I hope I didn't leave anything out.

Here's a couple close ups...

Thanks for looking and understanding about my flub on the blog candy.  I promise I will throw in extra to make up for the mistake!

Have a wonderful Friday!
